A small Red Fox Labrador puppy had a snooze with a "ruff" dream, and people have become obsessed with the cute little pup.

On August 17, 2024, TikTok user Hugo (@hugothefoxredlab) shared a video of the tiny Labrador puppy, and everyone who watched the video instantly fell in love. Take a look!

In a short video clip posted to TikTok, we meet a small Red Fox Labrador puppy named Hugo who was napping.

It doesn't appear that the puppy was having a great nap, though. He appeared to be having a nightmare or was at least restless when he should have been peacefully sleeping.

The little puppy was sleeping on what looked like a couch, making the cutest noises and movements while he slept.

The tiniest barks, little wiggles of his leg, and his tiny cheeks puffed up when he made the cute sounds.

Hugo never wakes himself up, though, so he could have been having a happy dream that just got extended into his real life.

The video's caption joked, "Having a ruff dream!" In the comments, people made it clear that they had fallen in love with the sleepy puppy.

One wrote, "Chasing sheep not counting."

Another shared, "I wonder if they dream of bones and running through grass."That little growl at the end."

Someone else joked, "I've seen clips of newborn pups dreaming. what could they possibly be dreaming about they don't know anything or seen anything yet."

Another added, "Barking in his sleep and the little growl growling at the other dog bothering him."

Someone else shared, "That's definitely a good dream."

    One wrote, "Wittle puppy dreams."

Why Do Dogs Whimper and Twitch in Their Sleep?

According to Hill's Pet , dogs twitching in their sleep is pretty common. There are a few reasons why your dog might be doing the same when it's catching zzzs.

"Dog twitching is an involuntary muscle spasm that occurs rapidly and suddenly in almost any part of a pup's body," the experts share. "Twitching typically happens in the back legs, usually while your dog is sleeping."

Hill's Pet explains that there are several reasons why dogs may twitch in their sleep, including being in an active dream phase, in the middle of a growth and development phase, having anxiety, muscle stiffness, arthritis, or too much stimulation.

In the case of Hugo, who is likely just dreaming away, that's pretty common for dogs.

"A dog twitching while sleeping is a good indicator that they're deep in snoozeland. Dogs have the same sleep stages as humans, including short-wave sleep and rapid eye movement," the site writes. "Oftentimes, your dog will look like they're kicking the air when they're dreaming."

We hope Hugo slept well and that his dream was funny and peaceful.
