German Shorthaired Pointer's Confused Excitement Over Twin Baby Sisters Is Too Funny

Bringing home a baby is a little bit weird for everyone involved, parents included. Once you're ready to be discharged, they kind of just hand you the baby and let you go. Even if you think you're completely prepared for this, there will be moments when you fully believe you were wrong.

One of those moments commonly occurs when you bring your baby home to meet your dog for the first time. You're worried about everything that could possibly go wrong. Maybe your dog, who has always been great with kids, actually hates kids? Now take that and multiply those fears by two: on Friday, August 16th, one couple brought their twins home to their dog, and he made the most of it:

Henry and the twin sisters will have a fun life together, that's for sure. They're going to grow up just loving him!

Henry is pretty new to TikTok, but he's definitely not new to being a big brother. Now, though, his little family has been joined by two babies at once: a pair of twin sisters. They're still a little too young to be able to move much, which is actually the perfect time to introduce your dog to your baby, since they won't be overwhelmed by grabby hands or the child running after them.

Even though Henry isn't new to children, he's definitely new to twins - when they set the babies down, his confusion is hilarious: he tries to figure out which one to sniff first, which one to kiss first, and most importantly, why there are two of the same person there!

    Can Dogs Tell Twins Apart?

Dogs see twins all the time: some are part of families' whose parents are twins, they're raised with siblings like Henry, and they may even see twins on the street. Those of us who are not and don't know any twins are usually left with one burning question: if twins are in a room, will their dog tell them apart?

The world is a little bit conflicted about whether dogs can tell twins apart or not. Identical twins share every piece of DNA: they look the same, they often have the same (or similar) voices, and they should smell the same, too. However, they don't, and if the dog has the chance to smell both, they will smell them apart.

If two identical twins dress exactly the same, stand far enough away, and speak to the dog, there is a chance the pup won't tell them apart correctly, especially if they're not professionally trained. As far as sweet Henry goes, I think he'll get that down pat in no time!
