Sometimes, all you need is a little love from your favorite person to get you through the day. Ellie the Amazon parrot knows this all too well, which is why she doesn't hesitate to reach out to Mom for some much-needed cuddling!

A recent TikTok video posted by @coloradobirdlover shows the special relationship between Ellie and her Mom as she enjoys a few good head scratches that help her relax. Be prepared to swoon while watching this clip.

In the 2-minute video that says, "Ellie literally laid her head down on my shoulder for 'scritches,'" the Parrot does just that. With her head down and her eyes closed, Ellie enjoys all the loving pets and kisses from her mom. It's the look of pure bliss, making it clear that they love us as much as we love them. There's even a moment she opens her eyes, as if asking Mom to keep scratching (which she does)!

Of the account's more than 11,000 followers, many of Ellie's fans love the way she asks for scratches so politely.

"You and Ellie are so lucky to have found each other," one person wrote. "Best feeling in the world," another added. "The love and trust is beautiful," another said.

Their bond is so special, it's a gift to get to witness it.

    Parrots Can Be Very Affectionate

It's clear that Ellie and other Amazon Parrots are incredibly intelligent, but these playful birds are also very loving, affectionate companions when properly trained and socialized. According to VCA Animal Hospitals, Amazon Parrots can be active and personable, typically bonding with one member of the family. They also aren't afraid to ask for pets and scratches, which is also clear by watching Ellie!

Hand-tamed Parrots are usually easier to handle and they do love being the center of attention! Pet parents will need to spend adequate time with these social babies so they don't become bored or destructive.

A Parrot's lifespan can be upwards of 30 years or more, so this kind of bond truly does last a lifetime. Among some of the things a pet parent can do to strengthen the bond with their bird, talking to them tops the list. By repeating words and speaking clearly, they'll soon learn the words to use themselves. Pretty soon, they'll be asking for head scratches, which would honestly be the cutest!

We're sure this won't be the last time Ellie will lay her head down on Mom's shoulder because now she knows she'll get all the scratches she wants!
