As pet parents, we sometimes make silly mistakes we regret instantly. Even though we should have known better, a slip in judgment is all it takes to see the error of our ways. However, we’re rarely lucky enough to catch these moments on camera.

Fortunately for us, when this dog mom made a regrettable decision with her German Shepherds, she had her video turned on. Check out this video from August 18th to see her priceless miscalculation.

I feel bad for laughing because I have made a similar mistake multiple times. However, it’s especially regrettable when you’re lying in bed, and it’s first thing in the morning. Mom had presumably only intended to capture their adorable synchronized head tilts when she inquired if Penny and Vinny (@ penny.and.vinny.the.gsds ) wanted to go for a walk. But she got more than she bargained for.

Penny couldn’t hold back her excitement at the thought of getting outside and seeing and smelling what was new, and before Mom could react, she jumped on the bed and pounced, knocking the wind right out of her. LOL! Whoops! Who needs coffee when you have 80 pounds of German Shepherd to wake you up and get you going? But it’s unlikely Mom will make this error twice.

How Much Exercise Do German Shepherds Need Daily?

German Shepherds are high-energy dogs, with most requiring at least one to two hours of aerobic exercise daily to stay in top physical shape. They also need mental stimulation such as puzzle toys, obedience or agility training, or tasks like scent work to keep them from getting bored. Playing games like fetch or tug-of-war and herding exercises can help them burn off excess energy. While older dogs may require less training and stimulation, younger dogs and those with high energy levels can develop destructive behaviors or anxiety if they don’t get enough activity.

This rude awakening amused people. Viewer @rinagoncalves responded, “What a wonderful way to wake up with two gorgeous faces looking at you.” It’s as good as it gets until a spirited pup bounces on top of you. Viewer @kiwi_in_the_city remarked, “Oh my gosh. This is why we love them so much. Never ever say that word! Lol!” In my house, I can’t even propose a W without getting a reaction. Another person responded, “Haha! That escalated quickly.” It sure did!

Even though this mom may have had a tough start to her day, thankfully, she has an excellent sense of humor and was willing to share the laugh with us. It’s a friendly reminder for all pet parents to choose our words wisely.
