Dogs are truly imaginative animals. Not only do they seek exciting places to observe the world, but they also find unique spots to sleep, and some even invent their own forms of entertainment.

However, their creativity can sometimes lead to hazards. For example, the playful German Shepherd’s new game could result in a slip and fall. Nonetheless, it’s difficult to resist such a joyful pup.

Check out this video from August 20 to see this German Shepherd’s new game!

This game is quite amusing! Sadie (@ thecrazydoggirl ) likely created it by mistake, but she’s making the most of it. The water bowl is full when the video starts recording, and by the time it’s over, there’s a little water left. This silly girl kept dunking her ball in and squeezing it out. LOL! It’s hard to tell what made it so fun. Was it the sound the ball made when it was waterlogged? Or did she enjoy taking sips of her drink this way? It may have been a mix of these factors because it definitely held her interest for a while. My favorite part might be her German Shepherd friend, who was quietly sitting and observing the rules of this game. Or maybe they just wanted to stay off the floor and away from the mess. Either way, these two are incredibly entertaining.

What Makes Balls So Appealing to Dogs?

    1. Playing with balls can trigger a dog’s inherited ancestral genes for hunting prey. A rolling or bouncing ball’s fast, erratic movement simulates prey running away, engaging their chasing and pouncing instincts.

    2. Dogs love to chew, and the excitement of chasing and catching a ball releases endorphins in their brains, making them feel happy and content. It becomes a self-rewarding activity that they love to repeat.

    3. It can give them a sense of accomplishment. Many dogs, especially breeds like Retrievers , were bred to retrieve game for hunters. So, bringing a ball back for their parents can be equally rewarding.

Although it may have been messy, people were on board with this creative concept. Viewer @kellichristophersen responded, “Oh my gosh, I cannot stop laughing! Very creative, so smart, and quite beautiful.” Yes indeed! Viewer @janefeebles remarked, “Occupied and hydrated, thank you.” It’s a win on many levels! Viewer @superkeren responded, “Has good bite feedback, I get it!” That seems to be true!

Although we may never know why our dogs do what they do, it’s easy to tell when they’re having a good time. Even if that means we might end up mopping the floor, they’re always worth the effort.
