Precious Dog Brings Her Mom a Toy Every Single Time She Comes Home

There is nothing in the world better than the greeting than I get from my dog when I get home, and I know I'm not the only one who feels that way. She is always so happy to see me, whether I've been gone for a week or just got back from a quick Target run. As soon as I get out of the car, I can see her little face peeking through the window as she watches me walk to the front door, and the tail wagging already starts before I've even unlocked it. Where else do you find this level of unconditional love and enthusiasm?

But even my dog is going to need to take some notes from the one in this TikTok video, because when her human gets home, she actually gets gifts. What?!

On Wednesday, August 21, @devonoleary shared this video to show what her dog, Opal, does every day when she gets home: Brings her mama a gift, of course!

The gift is always a dog toy, but even when Opal can't find a toy, she improvises, which we get to see play out in the video above.

"This time she couldn't find a single toy, so she grabbed whatever she could find," her mom explained in the video, showing off the cap to a can of whipped cream that Opal somehow unearthed for her mom's gift that day.

All that mattered to her was that she came up with some way to show her mom how much she loves her and how happy she was to come home... and even though the gift may not have been flashy, it doesn't seem like it mattered one bit!

Why Do Dogs Give Humans Their Toys?

Opal isn't the only pup who has this habits. It's actually pretty common for dogs to want to greet their people with a gift!

According to PetMD, there are a few reasons for this behavior . Your dog may have been bored without someone to play with while you were gone, so they're ready to get this party started. It's also possible that they're bringing you a toy because they want to show it off (and get the positive attention from you that comes with it, so act very impressed!).

They may also be bringing you a gift because they're excited, if you have often used toys to redirect their behavior. They're excited you're home, so they redirect their own attention to the toy, and they want you to be a part of it.

Dogs are too precious. Just remember to always say thank you for your gift!
