Sassy Bulldog Takes 'Inventory' of His Toys After Untrustworthy Brother Plays with Them

Dogs often have siblings, and they behave like siblings, because it's natural. Just like humans, dogs have things that they consider to be theirs, and if anything or anyone gets in the way, they'll have something to say about it.

Just look at this video from Saturday, August 24th, when one Bulldog caught his brother playing with his toys and demanded to take "inventory" after he was done. He needed to make sure everything was in its rightful place:

Barkley the Bulldog (and his brother, Bama) is a dramatic king to the core. No matter what the situation, he will find a way to overreact about it, and it will be hilarious every time!

Barkley and Bama are absolutely beautiful: they have mostly-matching Merle coats, those trademark Bulldog underbites, and the massive personalities to go along with their big, hulking posture. They're close in age, and they like a lot of the same things, including a lot of the same toys.

Unfortunately, they are also some of the strongest-willed boys on the planet, and they hate it when they have to share toys. Their mom has shared lots of videos of them getting in fights, and they're typically over toys, though mom's lap is also something they deem worth fighting for!

    Should Dogs Have Separate Toys?

Dogs are our babies, and we want to keep them happy whenever we possibly can. Ideally, if you have two dogs (even if they don't match perfectly like Barkley and Bama), they get along and enjoy playing together.

However, just like human siblings, there are some times when dogs need their alone time. Letting them have it prevents issues like serious fights, stress, and overstimulation. Dogs should always have separate places they can go (like crates or even whole rooms, if you're like that) to be alone.

Separate toys are a great way to keep your dogs happy. Your dogs may have different styles of play, which warrants separate toys, and it's important to cater to that. Having their own toys in their crate can also really help them calm down and have independent playtime when they're feeling upset.

Sharing is an important skill to teach, too, in order to prevent issues like r esource guarding behavior. You could have certain toys, like ball and frisbees, that are meant for shared play while specific stuffed/ squeaky toys can be designated for one dog only. If they choose to share, that's on them - though Barkley is not having it!
