Tiny Black Kittens Fighting Over Their Favorite Basket Could Not Be Any Cuter

Kittens fight. Getting two at the same time is not uncommon, especially since tons of people adopt littermates or bonded pairs together. Even if they're bonded, though, that does not mean they'll never fight!

On Saturday, August 24th, a cat mom captured the moment that her two kittens decided they wanted to sit in the same basket, but they did not want to sit together. As a result, a very funny fight ensues:

Katie Rhinehart's cats are a perfect picture of living with siblings. It doesn't matter if there's somewhere else to sit or if you know it's not your turn, you want that seat!

The two black cats in this video are not the only pets in this household; they have other cat and even dog siblings, plus one human baby sister. However, it seems like they're the closest: they were both rescues and they both love baskets. That's a recipe for besties if you ask me!

Even the bestest of friends fight sometimes, though, and this basket is a hot commodity that mom says they fight over daily. They might like the location or just the way they fit in it, but honestly, a big part of the reason why they love the basket is probably just because the other one wants it. Somebody in the comments explained that this might just be the Fight Basket, which totally makes sense!

Should You Break Up a Cat Fight?

These cats fight over this basket daily, but their mom refuses to get them another one, because she knows they'll lose interest as soon as she does. Instead, she just lets them fight it out, which usually lasts anywhere from 1-5 minutes. She stated that neither of them growl, act afraid, or actually try to harm the other, so she doesn't bother.

If a fight between your cats looks serious, like one of them looking seriously upset or scared, or someone actually got hurt, you should break up the fight as soon as you can. Avoid using your bare hands since that can cause you to get scratched or bitten; instead, use something like a pillow or put on a pair of gloves first.

If there's something in your home that continually causes nasty fights, the best thing you can do is remove it from the situation. They'll forget about it eventually. These two kitties better watch out: if they goo too much further, their mom might take away their beloved basket!
