Most experts agree that there are tens of millions of stray cats in the United States. These cats, when they aren't falling victim to predators or being hit by cars, often face the harsh realities of hunger, thirst, and having no adequate shelter. Even thought it's hard to believe with how hot it's been lately, colder weather will be upon us soon with these poor cats having nowhere warm to sleep.

That's why it's always so touching to see someone dedicated to helping the stray cats in their own neighborhoods.

The TikTok account for @ Badmouthmama93 shared the beautiful video and TikTok users are so touched by this man's kind gesture. It's always so wonderful to see someone go above and beyond to help the animals in need in their neighborhood.

One person commented, "Oh my goodness!! Protect this man at all costs." Another added, "Thank you so much for doing this for these voiceless animals. They need to be heard and you're just an amazing human being and gladly follow you bless your heart."  I think we can all agree with so many of the people who said, "This is just such a good man." Another person asked, "Does your town have a TNR program? It may be a good idea to look into that."

Everyone knows that if a cat isn't neutered or spayed, it just adds to the feral and stray cat populations in cities and towns.

One way of helping to stop cats reproducing is by implementing a trap-neuter-return (TNR) program, which traps feral or outdoor cats, vaccinates and spays or neuters them and returns them back to the area in which they were trapped. TNR programs, helps neighborhood stray and feral cats in numerous ways. The cats are returned to a neighborhood they are familiar with, they help control the rodent population, and yet they can't reproduce so that keeps the stray population in local shelters down.

TNR programs usually vaccinate cats and clip one of their ears so people know that these cats have taken part in this program. Because these cats are vaccinated, they can't spread diseases like rabies.

You can contact your local animal shelter or Humane Society to see how you can either donate to or help volunteer with their TNR program. You can also find out if you can help cats in your area by placing your own makeshift shelter boxes and providing food and water for the cats.
