Having kittens is a stressful time: cats rarely have just one baby, and everything from birthing to raising them is one mess after the next. However, just like with humans, there are plenty of sweet moments that make everything worth it, too.

Take, for example, this video from August 24th. Just minutes after she gave birth, this mama cat's kittens needed to nurse. In addition to the milk they need, she decided to give them a sweet side of biscuits:

Dizzy Antelope is so lucky to get to care for these kitties, mama and all, until they're ready for their forever homes. I can't wait to watch them grow up!

These cats are being fostered by the human who runs this account, and they're not the first ones. She fosters cats often, and she doesn't discriminate; she'll take in any cat that needs a home, even if they have a full litter of kittens growing.

This cat, who doesn't seem to have a name yet, just had her babies three days ago. In this one and follow-up videos, we can see that she's being an excellent mom, and her kittens are all so beautiful! Once she recovers and her babies are ready to go out on their own, they'll be adopted out through the Tabby Town Animal Shelter in Blasdell, New York, which is also where she works!

Do All Cats Like Their Kittens?

This new mama obviously adores her kittens, and that's amazing. It's only natural for you as your cat's parent to wonder if they'll like their babies, to think of all that could go wrong, and most importantly, to worry.

Cats are typically very loving and devoted mothers. They'll defend their kittens from anything they deem to be a threat, which is why you should try your best to keep any other pets, kids, and even your own hands off the kittens until they're ready to start venturing away from their mother a little bit.

There may be some instances where mother cats will abandon or even eat their kittens, but they're generally rare. If the kittens were born premature or with birth defects that make them less likely to survive, she may abandon them, and it's not her fault; it's instinctual. To a cat, caring for a kitten that isn't going to survive is a waste of resources better spent on the other kittens.

Luckily, all of this mama's babies seem to be perfectly happy and healthy, and they're definitely very loved. Save some biscuits for the rest of us!
