Dogs always know how to have a good time. They don't worry about what other people might think or what size mess they may make. They embrace life and welcome every minute.

We can learn much from them about happiness and slowing down to enjoy our days. However, unlike our pups, we are responsible for cleaning up after them, which can dampen the fun. But even a mud-covered adventure is a memory that's always worth making.

See how this adorable Staffy made her walk more exciting in this video from August 19:

If you're going to do something, do it right! That certainly seems to be the rule Dixie (@ dixie_blue_staffy ) lives by. She didn't just go off trail to play in the mud; she made sure she ran through the muckiest, the dirtiest part of it, as she made her exit. Lol! However, it's hard to do anything but smile when they're filled with joy and pride. What a happiest girl! It's worth whatever cleanup this required, which included the entire family and, undoubtedly, the car. But with a face this cute, you can get away with nearly anything!

Why Do Dogs Like to Play in the Mud?

On a hot summer day , dogs may be attracted to mud to cool down. Playing in mud allows dogs to satisfy their instincts, such as digging and rolling. Even though they may not face the same predators as when they were wolves, playing in the mud can help them mask their scent, making them feel safer. However, according to Dogster, it's just as likely that dogs enjoy playing in the mud simply because it's fun! It provides an engaging sensory experience, and dogs are attracted to the squishy feeling of mud because they enjoy experiencing different textures. In Dixie's case, perhaps she rolled through the mud in an effort to keep those pesky mosquitoes away. Unfortunately, it didn't work out so well, if that was her intention.

People were amused by this filthy good time. Viewer @sarahelynclark pointed out, "Look at that rear wheel drive kick in going through the mud and up the hill!" Ha! That Pittie power really did take over! Viewer @begga.acidheart remarked, "Excuse me, there is a little bit of dog on your mud." LOL! That's for sure. Viewer @a_vegan_birdie responded, "Every dog deserves to experience this kind of joy." Yes, indeed, every dog and child.

Thankfully, we don't remember the cleanup after cheerful days like these. We recall the time we spent with our family, the joy of our pups, and the warmth of the season. Even though dogs might be a little messy, they know how to live.
