Bulldog Whimpers with Excitement Over Getting to 'See the Babies'

Puppies are exciting for everybody, even if you're not human. Think about it: for a dog, puppies are just small friends to play with, and high-energy breeds in particular are always down to keep up with their never-ending supply of the zoomies.

On August 25th, a particularly smush-faced Bulldog and his matching sister got to go and visit their friends' house, and to their surprise, there was a whole gaggle of puppies for them to meet. Ted was so excited he could hardly contain his wiggles:

Queen Rosie and Sir Ted are very distinguished dogs, but their poise goes out the window when the puppies come around. They're just puppies at heart!

There's a follow-up video immediately after this one where Ted and the puppies are frolicking around the yard, and it's just about the sweetest thing ever! They have no self-control, and he doesn't seem to mind, matching their energy even though he's an old man (by their standards). When it was time to go home, he was sad to leave them!

The puppies in these videos actually don't belong to Rosie and Ted, which you can kind of tell by their coloring. Instead, they belong to a neighbor/friend, and after much consideration, they've decided they won't be taking one home. Ted has recently had an operation and he's still in recovery, so a puppy might do him more harm than good. Until they're ready for their forever homes, though, Uncle Ted will be around to play!

Bulldogs Often Do Well With Puppies

Ted and Rosie don't spend much time with puppies outside of this interaction; their parents just don't have any, and these are the first ones they've seen. Even so, they clearly adore them, regardless of the fact that they keep trying to eat his face.

Bulldogs are a generally agreeable breed: their main goal is to keep their human parents happy. They usually do well in homes with puppies, other dogs, kids, or even cats. Since Bulldogs are a relatively low-energy breed, they don't waste their energy on being hateful - unless you touch their favorite toys or their food bowl!

Even though Bulldogs are usually fine with puppies, you should still take care to introduce them slowly to avoid any issues. When you bring in a puppy, even for a short period of time, both dogs have quite a bit of learning to do . Luckily, Ted is a master!
