Dogs have favorites. When they choose you, you can't help but feel like the luckiest person in the world. For two Golden Retrievers named Doug and Russell, it's their mom, and every time they see her, they feel happy and safe.

A TikTok video posted on August 25, 2024, by @doug.and.russell, shows the Goldens absolutely light up once they spot Mom, and it'll tug at your heartstrings. Check them out!

In the brief 16-second clip captioned, "The moment when dogs recognize their mom," puppy Russell trots along the backyard, picking up the pace once he sees Mom waiting for him. Of course, he heads right over to her for a little petting action, enjoying every bit of love.

In the same yard, Doug plays with a ball and happily brings it to Mom, maybe to trade for the same pets little brother Russell got. The scene then cuts to Doug running happily to Mom, even tackling her, and it's the cutest thing.

Doug and Russell have so much love for Mom, and it's infectious. We could all hope to feel this kind of doggy love!

How To Know Your Dog Is Madly in Love With You

Most of the time, dogs aren't shy about showing their love for their humans. However, there are some tell-tale signs they adore you more than anything. VCA Animal Hospitals explains if you're wondering if your dog loves you , research proves they truly do, and they can also connect scents to you. Studies also show the reward center part of the brain (caudate nucleus) activates when smelling something with their person's scent.

There are other ways to know your dog is obsessed with you, some of which are obvious. They might jump or get really excited when you come home, wagging their tail and barking. Sometimes, they may bring you a favorite toy because they want to share something important to them with you.

When they snuggle with you, it means they consider you part of their pack—a huge compliment! Direct eye contact in a relaxed way is a sign of affection, and so is wanting to be with you in every room you go.

Dogs are always showing us signs of how much they love us, we just have to pay attention. As for Doug and Russell, it's obvious—they only have eyes for Mom!
