Pampered Boxer Insists on Mom Tucking Her in as Part of Morning Routine

When you have a dog, your morning routine becomes just as much about him as it is about you. Gone are the days of leisurely wake-ups, making breakfast and being able to sit down immediately. Now, they're ready for their walk, their breakfast, and all of your attention.

When it's all over, though, some dogs simply opt to go back to bed. However, on August 24th, one Boxer took the morning routine to the extreme. After she was done with her morning routine, she demanded that mom go back upstairs and tuck her back into bed, where dad was still sleeping:

Poppy and I have recently learned she is a "blanket baby". Thank you to ALL the wonderful comments on my other video opening us up to this new term! Who else has a blanket baby!?! its not for the weak šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ #fyp #blanketbaby #boxerdog #boxerdogcontent #dogtok #fyp #morningroutine #dogmorningroutine #princesspoppyoftiktok #boxerdogs #souldog #heartdog #doglove #iwoulddieforyou

Princess Poppy is sincerely living up to her name. This is some seriously royal treatment; I didn't even get tucked in as a human child!

Princess Poppy has certainly earned her name. She's been with her family since she was a puppy, and like so many, her mom started posting about her sweet antics on social media during the pandemic. Everyone fell in love with Poppy: she's just a baby, even though she's huge.

Poppy's morning routine is not complete until she finishes her morning business and her mom tucks her right back into their bed (that she spent all night sleeping in). Unlike other dogs who prefer to lie in the middle or at the foot of the bed, though, she likes to be just like humans. She sleeps on a pillow!

Dogs Need a Lot of Sleep Every Day

Princess Poppy is perhaps the world's sleepiest girl, and for good reason. Luckily for her, her mom doesn't mind postponing making the bed every morning so she can have some extra sleepy time in the morning. I kick my girl dog out and she sleeps in her bed!

The larger the dog breed, the more sleep they need every day. Additionally, puppies and seniors tend to sleep more than young-middle aged dogs. A Boxer about 5 years old like Poppy will sleep for anywhere from 12-14 hours a day.

Dogs sleep so much because they get tired a little more easily than humans do. Dogs also have an internal temperature of around 101 degrees Fahrenheit, and being so warm expels more energy than being cold does. That, combined with their rigorous play schedules and commitment to expending energy barking at nothing leads to one tired pup!

Poppy's morning snooze is a family tradition, as it should be. She must get so tired from being adored all day!
