Mom Shares 'Similarities' Between Her Senior and Puppy Pit Bull and It's a Hoot

A mom shares the hilarious "similarities" between her senior Pit Bull and her Pit Bull puppy, and it's really funny.

On August 24, 2024, TikTok user Knight the Pit (@knight_thepit) shared a video of all the Pit Bulls, young and old, and their similarities are really cute. Take a look!

In a minute-long video full of Pit Bull cuteness, one dog mama breaks down how similar and different her older Pit Bulls are from her Pit Bull puppy.

The video's title reads, "The similarities between my senior dogs and puppy named Stormi. " In the first clip, we can see one of the older pups, Daba, sitting in her bed, holding onto a toy while the little puppy creeps up like she's trying to steal it.

The first similarity between the older dogs and the puppy is playing tug-of-war. They both love to play, and they're even having fun playing together. The puppy may be much smaller than the older dog, but he's giving it his all, and the older dog is very sweet but not giving in.

The second similarity is that the older dogs and the puppy both like to do army crawls. First, we see Knighty crawling on the bed toward the camera, looking for an "atta-boy" or a head scratch. He moves in the crawl with ease, like it took no effort.

Then Stormi does an army crawl she's outside when she attempts the crawl, which is probably a lot harder than being on a bed, but she's still able to do it. She uses her front paws to scoot her body toward her parent who is behind the camera.

The funniest similarity in the video, though, is the zoomies because the Pit Bull pups are a little different. Knighty is really fast, and he runs up and down the hallway with his wild energy.

But when it comes time to show the similarity between the puppy and her zoomies, it's not quite the same. She's way faster and more chaotic, running up and down the hallway and into different rooms.

In the comments, people said a lot of kind things about these sweet dogs.

"Stormi found her voice! More 'awwoos' please," one person asked.

"Them babies, I just love them," another shared.

"Army crawls are so relatable," wrote another.

    "Basically twins," another joked.

"Pitbulls in shirts has to be one of my favorite things the internet has ever gifted me," admitted another.

What Are the 'Zoomies' and Why Do Dogs Get Them?

According to the American Kennel Club , Zoomies are a thing, and they have a real name, too.

"Zoomies, or Frenetic Random Activity Periods (FRAPs), refer to those unmistakable explosions of energy that dogs have on occasion," the site explains. "Zoomies often feature frantic, repetitive behavior such as running in circles or spinning around."

The experts explain that a "frequent cause" of zoomies is an "excess buildup of energy," which the dog then releases all at once.

American Kennel Club notes that some times of day tend to trigger this big burst of energy more than others, including first thing in the morning and/or in the early evening after spending the day in a crate.

"Some dogs get zoomies after a bath, while others are triggered by stressful situations like visiting the vet," the experts explain. "Zoomies most often occur in puppies and younger dogs, but the phenomenon can strike dogs of all ages and breeds at times."

The good news is that zoomies are totally normal dog behavior, so there's nothing to worry about. However, if your dog hurts itself while zooming, it's good to get it checked out at the vet.
