Some friendships take a little time to develop and that's okay. This was the case for a 3-month rescue kitten named June and her dog sibling. Once they decided to accept each other as they are, it was the best thing to happen to both of them.

A recent TikTok video posted by @june_bug0514 shows the moments June discovers a true bestie in her dog companion and yes, it's as sweet as it sounds.

In the video captioned, "I think they both needed a playmate," June Bug and her dog sibling explore each other throughout the house. Each careful to approach the other, they take great care to be polite while investigating whether this friendship will work or not.

After laying near each other for a bit, June makes the first move and attempts to play with the pup. To her surprise, she loves it! Once he reciprocates, the fun times begin! The two run and play, having the time of their lives, and it's clear the decision has been made: they're besties for life!

ThisĀ is great news for the polydactyl kitten , who was rescued from beneath a car in Manhattan, NY. Though her story began with an unknown future, now she's got it made, thanks to her new parents for taking her in and her new brother for loving her as she is!

"I love this so much! Oh my God," one person wrote and we do, too! This is one of those special relationships sure to last a lifetime.

    Polydactyl Cats

Yes, adorable little June is a polydactyl kitten, which means she has extra "thumbs"ā€”more than the 18 toes cats typically have. PetMD indicates polydactyl cats aren't rare, and genetics have a lot to do with it.

Polydactylism is an autosomal dominant trait, so only one parent can have it to pass it onto their litter, and the number of toes can vary. The site says it's common for extra toes to develop inside the paw, though they can form on the outside, but it's more rare.

These toes also don't necessarily come in pairs so some cats have extra toes on one paw and not the others.Ā World record holders have 10 extra toes which is incredible! Regardless, having the extra toes doesn't usually cause any problems for those that have them.

As for June, being a polydactyl feline doesn't faze her. She's living her best life, with her new family and her new BFF, so all is good in the world!
