Donkey Nearly Kicking Dad While Trying to Cuddle Him Is the Biggest Puppy Around

Donkeys are the sweetest. They're often overlooked because they're not the "prettiest," and because they don't necessarily have a purpose on most farms. However, for the hobby farmer, donkeys are on the rise - they're precious, adorable in their own right, and so friendly!

On August 27th, one donkey dad showed off his donkey's extra sweet side. At first, it might've been a little bit scary, but it became obvious that all he really wanted was to cuddle his dad:

This donkey's name is Cooper, and he's totally dad's favorite. While there are lots of other animals on his farm, Cooper just stands out. Even though he's a little obnoxious, he's just so lovely; he's bonded to the other animals on the farm, yet he's saved plenty of room in his heart for his human family.

This is not the first time Cooper has demanded a cuddle from his dad, and it's certainly not the first time he's almost kicked him, but he doesn't mind. He's just learned to brace himself better, and Cooper hasn't compromised at all, because he loves to cuddle and everyone should accommodate him. I know I would.

Donkeys Need Lots of Love

As Cooper shows us, donkeys can be a little bit needy. They're highly social animals and can't stand to be alone; if left alone for too long, they may become depressed, aggressive, or unreasonably loud. Ideally, if you're getting a donkey, you either have a ton of extra time on your hands that you can devote to loving them or you have a bunch of other animals to keep them company.

Some ways you can make sure your donkey feels loved every day include things like:

1. Taking them out for a walk.
2. Spending time with them, even if you're just sitting there.
3. Brushing them (donkeys LOVE being brushed!).
4. Hand-feeding them special treats.
5. Letting them work by pulling a light wagon or hauling bags.

Even if you do have a lot of time to spend with them, getting at least one more donkey is still ideal. You can't be with them all the time: they'll feel safer at night in pairs. They might even snuggle together while they sleep, but don't worry, there will be plenty of snuggles left for you in the morning!
