Two rescue Golden Retrievers are sitting inside and watching the rain fall, and it's cute, peaceful, and full of joy.

On August 22, 2024, TikTok user Sheba the Golden Retrieva (@shebathegoldenretrieva), shared a video of her and her sibling watching the rain, and it's so cute. Take a look.

In the 16-second video , we meet Sheba and her sibling, who are interested in something outside.

"Just seeing my 2 rescue pups watch the rain is my joy for the day," the text on the screen reads.

The two Golden Retrievers are looking outside the front door and watching the rain splashing on the stone driveway.

One of the dogs looks back at the person behind the camera with an adorable look on their face, wondering if their human is seeing what is happening too. The other pup keeps their eyes fixated on the rain falling from the sky.

In the comment section, people expressed their love for these two sweet dogs and tried to guess what they were thinking while staring out at the rain.

One wrote, "They are so calmly sweet."

Another shared, "They are probably so happy they will never have to be out in bad weather again!"

    One comment read, "How sweet!"

Someone else added, "Watching the rain all warm and safe."

Another shared, "They [are] so lucky to have you."

"They are so beautiful," another TikTok user wrote, "big kisses to them."

How to Help Your Rescue Pet Feel Comfortable

The commenters said the two Golden Retrievers were likely happy to watch the rain and take it all in while staying dry. The thought of that makes me a little sad, but I'm also happy because they've found a home where they're not warm, safe, and comfortable.

If you're planning to adopt a rescue dog, there are a few things you can do to help them feel as comfortable as possible. According to NutriSource, a "3-3-3" rule helps new dog parents with a general guideline on when and how their new rescue dog can start to feel more at home.

"The 3-3-3 rule refers to the amount of time it can take for rescue dogs to feel comfortable in a new home and breaks it down into milestones: three days, three weeks, and three months," the experts explain.

NutriSource explains that the first three days in a rescue dog's new home are a transition period that can be overwhelming for the dog. "Some dogs will avoid food and water, and testing boundaries is common as they work to understand what is expected of them in their new life."

It takes approximately three weeks for a rescue dog to start to feel more settled and at home. "This is also when dogs will start getting into a routine and can be the time when behavior issues become more pronounced," NutriSource shares.

Then, after approximately three months in a new home, when there's been time to bond and establish a routine, dogs start to feel like they're at home now. "By the three-month mark, most dogs are comfortable in their new homes because they have established trust with their adopted family. This is when dogs often become fully “'settled in”' to their new life."
