Being blind doesn't stop pets from living their best lives. Archie the blind cat proves that with his big, loving heart. His favorite part of the day is when Mom returns from work so he can shower her in all the kisses and cuddles.

In a recent TikTok video posted by @theblindcathouse , Archie senses his mom near and can't wait to hop into her arms for a hug. Take a look at the sweet moment captured.

Ive been on medical leave for almost three months and have spent nearly every moment of that with Archie. Going back to work today, I knew he would be missing me and I missed him just as much. I snuck in through the basement door and Ry was filming to record his reaction to my voice. The greatest part of my day ❤️ #blindcat #bestfriends #cattok #catsoftiktok #cats

"I've been on medical leave for almost 3 months and have spent nearly every moment of that with Archie," the caption begins. "Going back to work today, I knew he would be missing me and I missed him just as much. I snuck in through the basement door and Ry was filming to record his reaction to my voice. The greatest part of my day."

In the heartwarming clip, Archie is seen sitting on a counter as the words, "Watch my blind cat realize I'm home from work," are written across the screen. As Mom enters, you can see his little neck craning around to see where her voice is coming from. With each "Archie?" he gets a little more excited, and the closer she gets, the louder his meows.

Finally, she reaches him and he stretches his arms up toward her so she can pick him up so the two can embrace each other after a long day apart. In three short days since the video surfaced, more than 33,000 people have liked the moment caught on camera between Archie and his mom.

"I love when social media beings me to an intimate moment that would have just been a passing "aww that was sweet" sort of thing, but to me it peels back the beauty of life and reminds me of goodness," one person wrote.

I can feel the relief that floods over him when he knows your home and pick him up. Thank you for loving this sweet baby," another said.

"Oh my God, the love and the hugs! You are the best part of not just his day, but his whole life," another added.

How To Make a Blind Pet's Life the Best It Can Be

Archie is an angel who's adjusted to living blind, thanks to his loving Mom. The Humane Society of the United States offers a few tips for caring for your blind pet so they, too, can be happy like Archie.

Create a consistent routine they can depend on and are comfortable in. Give them a safe zone to escape to if they get overwhelmed. Eliminate hazards such as clutter or sharp objects that may injure them. Utilize sound, like wind chimes, your voice, or radio, to help them navigate where they're at in the home as well as textured mats or other items that help them understand the layout of the house. For blind dogs , take care to clean up the yard as well.

Training with positive reenforcement and enrichment toys will go a long way. Most of all, be patient. These sweethearts are just as capable of loving and living as much as any other, so give them time to figure things out. If all else fails, invest in a halo to teach them the boundaries of walls and corners. Like Archie, they'll reward you with all the hugs you could ask for just for accepting them as they are.
