An adorable Dachshund has a favorite toy and they're so inseparable he takes it with him when he goes for potty breaks, and it's so cute.

On August 28, 2024, TikTok user Norman the Weiner Dog (@normantheweinerdog) shared a video of Norman and his absolute favorite toy. Take a look!

In an adorable video, we meet Norman, a Dachshund with a toy that he doesn't like to be out of sight.

In the clip, we see Norman outside, carrying something in his mouth.

"You know a toy is a keeper when it's brought outside for a bathroom break!" the text on the screen reads. And that's what Norman was doing. The cute little Dachshund was trotting back to the house with his happy tail wagging and his toy securely in his mouth.

He briefly puts his toy down to make sure his human behind the camera is following him. When he sees that, he picks the toy back up and continues his adorable trot back to the house.

The toy he's in love with seems to be a stuffed dog wearing an American flag-inspired outfit with blue and white stars.

The video then switches to another moment when Norman has taken another toy outside while he uses the potty. This time, it's a turtle-shaped toy that he's just as obsessed with.

"When you love your toy that much," the video's caption reads. "Can’t leave my favorite toy behind—even for a potty break!"

In the comments, people had much to share about the adorable dog and his attachment to his toys.

One wrote, "OMG, way too cute. I can't take it."

Another shared, "Norman is so stinkin' cute."

Someone else added, "Oh, my cuteness!"

One shred, "I’m starting to think this is a wiener dog thing, I have four dogs one of them is a dachshund and only he does this."

Another joked, "Puppies and turtles need potty breaks too, LOL."

How Much Exercise Does a Dachshund Need?

Sometimes, there can be a misconception that smaller dogs, like Dachshunds, don't need much exercise, but that's not typically the case.

According to the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals ( PDSA ), Dachshunds need a minimum of one hour of exercise each day, a little lets if you have a mini Dachshund.

"This should be split into a couple of walks, one slightly longer to allow lots of time for sniffing," the organization explains. "They will also need plenty of time to run and play off-lead in a secure area. However, you should be careful with the type of exercise they do – Dachshunds shouldn’t jump as they can easily damage their backs."

They also note that Dachshunds should have "daily training sessions" to ensure their brains are active so they don't get bored. "They’ll enjoy scent and puzzle games especially!"
