Mini Long-Haired Dachshund Serves As 'Office Dog' and People Can't Take the Cute

One of the biggest reasons I love working from home is that it means I don't have to leave my pets. Sure, it's terrible getting out of my warm bed in the morning... but the fact that my dog follows me downstairs to get the coffee started and stays by my side for the rest of the day makes all the difference in the world. But I know that not everyone is as lucky as I am in this department, and that means that seeing a dog at the office would be a real treat, even if it's not your own.

Enter: The concept of office dogs, which seems to be catching on more and more in recent years. And if you need any convincing that this is an amazing idea all companies should adopt, this TikTok video should do it!

In this sweet footage shared by @franklinweenie , we get to see one office dog hard at work: a gorgeous Dachshund pup named Franklin who is bringing all kinds of joy to all of his coworkers.

As a mini Dachshund, this little guy looks so tiny wandering around the halls of the audience, tippy tapping around to see who might want to visit with him that day (spoiler alert: it's everyone). Sure, a dog this cute is definitely a distraction... but in the best way possible.

And was he laying all over the desk and paperwork that someone appeared to be trying to do? Yes, but he was also doing a very good job of it!

"Every office needs a Franklin," says the video, and commenters couldn't help but agree.

"Thatā€™s it!!! Iā€™m quitting my job for a lack of Franklins," one person wrote. Another commenter contributed, "My office needs a Franklin and I work from home!"

The Benefits of Having an Office Dog

There actually are benefits to having a dog around the office ā€” you know, other than having a cute dog to look at while you're at work (though that's certainly one of them!).

According to study results shared by Harvard, having dogs in the office really can raise office morale in a meaningful way. Employees who spend time with a dog in the workplace every day are less stressed and even more engaged with work.

Studies also show that having a dog around helps give people an excuse to talk to each other, which leads to better communication and collaboration all around.

Sure, having a dog in the office means caring for a dog in the office, but maybe splitting those responsibilities is worth all of the benefits that come with it?
