Recently-Adopted Disabled Cat Sweetly 'Thanks' Dog for Saving His Life

Having the ability to offer help to an animal in need is such a special gift, and it's even more special when everyone in your household is on board with it. I'm not just talking about the humans who live under your roof with you, but the other pets you might already have, too. Adding a new pet to the family is certainly an adjustment for everyone involved, but it's a lot easier when your dogs and/or cats are willing to welcome their new brother or sister with open arms.

Because of that, it's hard to imagine a sweeter scenario than the one playing out in the TikTok video below. This dog and cat might have been strangers until recently, but it seems like they're already creating such an amazing bond.

On Sunday, September 1, @sheltervetnurse shared this footage of her pets together, writing, "My dog and I recently adopted a disabled cat, whose name is Morris, to help him heal. Turns out he's the one healing us."

That sentiment certainly seems to be true after seeing them rest together so peacefully, with the kitty's paw resting on the dog's leg before giving it a few comforting pats. It looks like he really is thanking him for everything he's done, like their mom wrote in the caption.

Adding a cat to your family is a big undertaking, but adding a cat who has special needs? That comes with a lot of responsibility, but it seems like one that this mom and her dog were happy to take on. After all, an earlier video reveals that her pup was once a shelter dog, too; he knows just what a difference it can make in an animal's life to have a forever home and family that is safe and full of love.

More About Morris

Morris is still a very recent addition to the family. At the end of July, his mom posted a video showing his first morning at his new forever home, and it looks like he was comfortable there from day one!

In fact, in another video that was shared of Morris just a few days later, he was snoozing in the sunlight, with his new dog BFF just a few feet away asleep on the bed. He knew he was with a good family and could finally rest.

It seems that Morris may have started out as a foster cat, but it's a good thing he ended up being a foster fail, because he really seemed to find a sense of belonging there after what must have been a stressful life so far.

I can't wait to see more of Morris and his dog together. These two were meant to be brothers!
