Malinois Puppy's Big Battle With Mom's Croc Is Too Cute to Miss

Malinois are absolutely bonkers when they're full-grown, mature adult dogs. Unless you're ridiculously well-trained in discipline, a Malinois may be legitimately unmanageable. There's just something about them.

Now take this dog that's already on the edge and add in the puppy crazies: it seems impossible. Recently, one dog mom took in a Malinois puppy as a foster, and it's going about as well as can be expected. Her poor Croc will never be the same, but at least he was having a good time:

Rachel Sample is so brave for taking him in. It's just a foster pup, but still - I would not want to fight it out with an 8-week-old Malinois puppy, and I'm a grown woman.

This little guy (who the comments are calling a "Maligator") was not with his foster mom for very long. After being posted in mid-August, he was adopted from a rescue in Indiana to his forever home. Somebody saw this video and said, "yes, I need this in my life." Wherever they are, I hope they're doing okay.

He left behind a pretty big hole in his foster mom's heart (and her Croc), but she'll be back to fostering soon. On her TikTok profile, she devotes a lot of time to training her dogs, which might be how she knew she'd be qualified to take this guy on. Hopefully he keeps up the good work when he's training with his forever family!

    Malinois Are Not For Everyone

The fact that a Malinois is not a good fit for most people, and families in particular, is not a secret. Anyone who has one will probably tell you that almost immediately after you meet them, and any breeder you visit will give you that same warning.

Malinois are wonderful dogs when they're trained properly: they work hard, they love their families, and they're some of the funniest dogs in the world. However, they're also very clingy with the people they love, and they're very protective. They don't know their own strength and, if you don't teach them, they could really hurt somebody. Malinois are also known for being reactive, which makes life with lots of people or neighboring animals difficult.

A Malinois is a dog that needs something to do. They may be content to snuggle on the couch sometimes, but they have a truly supernatural amount of energy. If you're considering getting one, there are a few jobs they might be a good fit for:

    1. Service work.
    2. Police work.
    3. Military work.
    4. Personal protection.

If you simply cannot live without a Malinois and don't really have a job for them to do, you might want to think about training them to do something anyway. Bite training is excellent exercise for pups who don't have "real" jobs. Other physical activities like running, hiking, or battling it out with a Croc are also big hits with this breed!
