Borzoi’s Happy Hops Through the Water Are Such a Mood

Despite their inability to speak, dogs possess remarkable emotional intelligence. They communicate their displeasure with our decisions through the most dramatic side-eye and their joy through smiles, kisses, and hugs.

As her enthusiastic hops demonstrate, This Borzoi is delighted to be at the beach. Her infectious spirit can be seen in this video shared on August 28:

This is how I feel at the beach, so I understand where sweet Sophie (@ oliversophiezoi ) is coming from. Instead of surfing the waves, she sees them as hurdles to jump over whimsically. As her parents point out, she looks like a seahorse gracefully bouncing through the water. Her carefree spirit reminds me of an episode of Friends where Phoebe runs through the park with her arms flailing like a kid without a care in the world. While we may have lost our childhood innocence, dogs keep this precious part of their spirit and never hesitate to use it. As adults, perhaps we should try it and see if it makes us equally happy. What do we have to lose?

    Characteristics of the Beautiful Borzoi

The Borzoi , formerly known as the Russian Wolfhound, were initially bred in Russia to hunt wolves and symbolized the ruling class. They are considered " Sighthounds " because they use vision rather than scent to hunt and have transformed from hardworking canines to cherished companions known for their serene and gentle nature. They are devoted and loyal to their humans but have a mind of their own when it comes to training. However, they are quite sensitive and do best with plenty of positive reinforcement . These sleek dogs weigh between 65-100 pounds and have silky coats that can be straight, wavy, or curly, with 18 different color variations. Their exceptional athleticism makes them stand out, as they can run at speeds of 35-40mph. Therefore, having a large yard with plenty of open space for them to run and play is essential for this breed.

People could feel Sophie's happy vibe. Viewer @sarovna_ responded, "It's so funny to see her doing those jumps in the sea. She seems to love and appreciate it." That's what her body language suggests. Viewer @saraspeedwell remarked, "A very rare sort of dolphin!" Ha! That's for sure. Viewer @jaspar_and_karana_borzoi responded, "All evidence points to her being a baby shark in her previous life!" Perhaps that's true.

With the beaches less crowded and the weather still warm, it's the perfect time of year to take our four-legged kids to the shore. If Sophie is any indication, it's an experience that will be a joyful and lasting core memory.
