Gentle Doberman's Precious Cuddle Session with Baby Is Melting People's Hearts

Dobermans get a little bit of a bad rap. They're intimidating; they're big, they're loud, and in movies, they always belong to the bad guys. It's not fair! Dobermans are wonderful pups!

Just look at this video posted recently. Even though there was a baby there invading every ounce of his personal space, he didn't mind at all; in fact, he loved it. There is no fear in this family, and that's exactly how it should be:

Bruno the Red Doberman is the best big brother ever. His brother will get to grow up knowing that his dog loves him and would do anything to protect him!

Bruno is a gorgeous boy, with a unique reddish coat that really makes him stand out. He's got that classic Doberman look, which just makes his love for his brother all the more entertaining: a big, scary-looking dog like this doesn't look like he'd love being around a baby. He really does, though!

In other videos, we can see Bruno and his baby brother getting along very well: Bruno basically never leaves his side. He stays nearby and helps him play, crawl, and gives him someone to lean on when he's toddling about. There are videos of the little boy literally crawling all over Bruno, and he's just happy to be involved. That's love!

Dobermans Are Actually Great With Kids

Despite what some people may believe, Dobermans can be excellent family dogs. They were first bred in the late 19th century, specifically for personal protection. They're fiercely loyal to their families and can sometimes be a little reactive, especially to other dogs or strangers approaching their people.

Because they're protective by nature, they are definitely inclined to be a little aggressive. Making very loud noises or very sudden movements can trigger a Doberman to react. However, as long as they get lots of socialization and are trained well early on in their lives, they can be just as loving and kind as any other dog in the world. When it comes to kids, Dobermans will feel inclined to protect them just as they would any member of their family.

However, if you have children, you should make sure they don't:

1. Pull punch, slap, or kick the dog, even unintentionally.
2. Spend time with the dog without supervision.
3. Throw things at the pup.
4. Overstimulate the dog; if you notice signs, separate them immediately.

Because of their sheer size, Dobermans can pose somewhat of a safety risk to kids, but it's nothing that's unmanageable. Stay vigilant and all will be well!
