Dachshund's Sassy Side-Eye Reaction to New Puppy Brother Says It All

It's always a toss up how things are going to go when introducing a new pet to the family. After all, it's hard to blame the dog who's been there all along for being a big skeptical about the newcomer, especially if they don't exactly enjoy sharing the attention they get from their humans! Plus, puppies can be rowdy, noisy, and messy, so I can totally understand why an adult dog wouldn't be immediately welcoming to someone who shows up and causes major chaos.

But even when that first meeting doesn't go exactly the way that you imagined it would, it can still be a pretty cute moment to witness. Case in point: The Instagram video below, which shows one stubborn pup who isn't going to give into the new guy anytime soon...

This Instagram video from @toad.trufflet shows the introduction between a three year old Dachshund pup named Tallulah and her brand new puppy brother, Toad. Toad is so pumped to meet her, but unfortunately, the feeling is absolutely not mutual!

Despite the fact that baby Toad came in there tail wagging, Tallulah was immediately suspicious of him. Her tail was wagging at first, too, but as soon as she smelled her new brother and realized what was happening, it immediately stopped.

Not only did she straight up ignore Toad for awhile, but she also gave him a stone cold side eye that let him know she was not okay with the idea of a little brother. Poor Toad!

Once they were both let loose to interact, things didn't get any better. Tallulah basically alternated between running away from Toad and giving him dirty looks, so... let's just say that this brother and sister relationship is going to have to be a work in progress!

    More About Baby Toad

Toad is a very recent addition to this family — according to his brand new Instagram that is documenting his life so far, they were finally able to bring him home at the end of August.

Though his first meeting with his big sister didn't go too smoothly, the rest of his first day at home with his fam did go well. According to his mom, he snoozed for four hours in his crate before he ended up in bed with his people (that's how they get you!). Toad is no fool!

Since then, it seems like he's adjusting pretty nicely — and Tallulah is finally starting to come around. Did I spy them running around and even cuddling together in this video ?

Something tells me these two will do just fine together now that they're getting used to each other.
