Maine Coon Cats Cozy Up in Tent Castle with Kid-Like Joy

Cats love to cuddle, if not with us then with each other. They'll curl up just about anywhere: literally, no space is too small. If they can squeeze, they're good. In fact, the smaller the better!

Because they seek them out, cats are used to sleeping in small spaces. Imagine the surprise this couple of Maine Coon cats were feeling on Monday, September 9th, when they found out that their mom had built them an entire castle to cuddle in:

Richie is a few years old, and he's one of the most amazing Maine Coon cats I've ever seen! He's from France, and his coat is mostly grey while his face is black - combined with the fact that he's full-grown and huge, that's an impressive boy! He also has a "brother," Tomie, who's actually his nephew!

Whether they know they're related or not is unknown, but they love each other just the same. Tomie, at a little under 2 years old, has spent his whole life learning from Richie. He knows how to play, get extra treats from mom, and how to have a good nap. Their nap skills were learned with help from their mom, who drapes a blanket over the couch for them to cuddle under!

Easy Ways To Keep Your Cat Happy

Richie and Tomie are handsome, happy boys, which is a stark contrast to the grumpy, "eat your body after you die" demeanor that many people thrust upon them. While it's true that there are definitely some grumpy cats out there, for the most part, they're loving and happy as could be, as long as you treat them right by:

1. Feeding them a good-quality diet.
2. Providing them with cat trees to keep their claws feeling fresh.
3. Offer them toys that they can play with independently and toys you can play with together.
4. Change up their toys and even the layout of their cat houses, cat trees, and feeding station regularly to prevent boredom.
5. If you can, bring them on leashed-up walks (Maine Coon cats are often great at this!).
6. Give them plenty of places to "hide."
7. Getting them a friend if you notice signs of loneliness or depression.

It may sound like a daunting task to keep your cat properly satiated, but it doesn't have to be, and it doesn't have to be expensive either! Just look at these two, perfectly content with a "blanket fort!"
