Brazen Wolfdog Swipes Stranger’s Muffin and Joyfully Discovers He's His Long-Lost Pal

I'd venture to guess that all dogs are happy when meal time comes around, and that very few would turn down a treat if offered one... but then there are the dogs who are truly food motivated. If you've parented one or you've met one, you know what I'm talking about. They will stop at nothing to get a snack, pull off any trick, no matter how wild, to receive the treat that's waiting for them after they nail it, and if there's human food around? Forget it. That's the holy grail of treats, and they are prepared to ask forgiveness, not permission.

The Wolfdog in this Instagram video, though? "Food motivated" doesn't even seem like enough to describe what he is, because he's even willing to resort to stealing to get the food he's got his eye on. But this time, he stole from someone important.

As @happywolfgirl , the human who belongs to this gorgeous Wolfdog , Lark, explained in her Instagram caption, she had organized a surprise for her pup that didn't quite go the way that anyone expected it to.

"Everything went wrong! We were trying to surprise Lark by having her favorite dog walker (WHO MOVED AWAY) hide in plain sight," she wrote. "Lark took advantage of us and stole a muffin. She was excited that she wasn't in trouble and that who she stole from was Logan! She tried at least 3 more times to steal more of the muffin."

Here, we can see Lark hop up on a picnic bench to steal a muffin that her dog walker was actively eating, and then, she started cowering and acting very guilty, because she knew she'd been caught breaking the rules.

But then, it clicked that she knew the guy she was stealing from, and she was suddenly full of excitement, wagging her tail with joy to see one of her favorite people.

So cute — I just hope Logan didn't mind sharing his muffin. Not like he had a choice!

Do Wolfdogs Make Good Pets?

As you could probably guess from the name, Wolfdogs look very similar to actual wolves, but are still considered canines. A common breed of these dogs are Czechoslovakian Vlcaks, and they're very unique animals.

According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), these dogs were originally bred for guarding the border in Czechoslovakia in the '50s, and are known for having tons of energy and endurance, since they're used for sports and herding often.

However, the AKC doesn't recommend this breed for a first time dog parent, since they have such strong personalities and dominance, so they will require a good bit of training.

Still, they are beautiful and can be very friendly, not to mention the fact that they are easily able to keep up if you like to run or exercise outdoors for long periods of time.
