I Chatted with a Pet Psychic About My Shih-Tzu & One Comment Blew Me Away

After all, my little Shih-Tzu , Tito is my world and my soul dog. Why wouldn't I want more insight into what he's thinking, feeling, and experiencing in his little life?

I scheduled a call with Maia and couldn't wait to hear what she had to say. Before talking to her, I'll admit I didn't quite know what to expect. I wasn't sure if she only communicates with animals who have crossed over or if she could also give me some insight into my Shih-Tzu, Tito's, funny personality quirks.

As it turns out, she's able to tap into living animals as well, so she worked her magic to contact Tito to hear what he has to say about being the funny little guy he is.

Tito can be pretty fearful of new people, and in particular, men, and he tends to growl and bark when someone gets within a few feet of me. Can you give me some insight into why he won't calm down if he sees I'm not afraid?

One thing's for sure - he's absolutely crazy about you! And he definitely knows how much you love him. He also says it's "like the whole world drops away" and it's just the two of you.

But with new people, he says that sometimes you might be ok, but he's not ok. He's extremely protective of you, and he's very watchful and particular. He checks people out to see whether he thinks they have integrity and really care about you. He likes to create a disturbance. He wants to get people's attention to make them pause and take a look at themselves.

I just took my one and only child to college this week to start his freshman year, which has been a huge life transition. I'm curious as to whether Tito has any idea what's happening or senses that there's a change or know's that he's gone.

Yeah. He knows it and he's aware of it. And he does have a few things to say about it... One thing he said is that he's with your child, and he'll always be with your child. He said he thinks it's a good school, a good environment, and he's glad he chose this school. He knows there were some other considerations in the mix, but he had his paws in the matter and is relieved.

Tito thinks that he's going to find a really nice niche, and it's going to happen quickly. He's saying that your son (I had not told her my kid was a son at this point) is kind of quirky like he is! (Also spot-on.) He's super smart, and he's already meeting people who are going to be his buddies for years. They're supportive of his creativity and his brilliance. Tito says he's actually quite brilliant, and he's at a school that really honors people who have talents and special gifts. It's going to be a place he can really shine. Tito thinks he's already feeling like he has a new home.

(I thought it was wild that she tapped into the fact that my son is creative and talented. He's a musician, playwright, and he's at a highly specialized school in the Northeast studying writing and directing for film. So this part of the call really took me by surprise!)

Does Tito understand that he's coming back?

Oh yes, he knows he's coming back! Tito thinks it would be helpful to have some video calls on a regular basis. Give him a call and say, "Tito wants to see you!" It will be beneficial to your son as well, since it'll help him to stay grounded and connected, though he's always going to be deeply connected with you.

Know that Tito is right there by your side, he knows what you're going through, and he's experiencing some similar things, too. He says he's been sort of "co-parenting" with you.
