Dogs show affection in the cutest ways. Most of the time, it's something we've accidentally taught them through repetition and high praise. This is exactly what happened with Bo the Black Labrador who cannot fathom eating his grub until he gets his mandatory nose kiss first—something he learned along the way!

A recent TikTok video posted by Cassidy Barnard ( @cassidy_3131 ) shows the pup patiently waiting for the special smooch that preludes his breakfast, and it's too pure. Watch how sweet this is!

My neighbors dog, Bo, requires a kiss on his nose before eating his food and my heart cannot handle it🥹😭❤️

"My neighbor's dog, Bo, requires a kiss on his nose before eating his food and my heart cannot handle it," the caption says. The short clip shows a montage of moments Cassidy feeds the patient Labrador . After pouring the kibble into his bowl, he looks up at her waiting for a kiss on his nose, which tells him it's time to eat. Obviously, his human taught him this, whether on purpose or by happenstance, and it's the best thing ever!

It's no wonder this absolutely precious video has already garnered 1.8 million likes and more than 10,000 comments from people across the world who were touched by sweet Bo.

"The fact that he got a kiss on the nose often enough that to him it became part of his routine makes me so happy for him," one person wrote.

"The pre calculated amount of food in the baggies, the raised bowls so he doesn’t have to reach too far, the fact that he was kissed so much it became a routine, that dog is ADORED," another noted.

"Directions to feed Bo: Kibbles with a side of kisses," another added.

Every dog deserves this kind of affection. Bo, you are one lucky dog!

Do Dogs Understand What a Kiss Means?

Dogs aren't born knowing human tokens of affection like hugs or kisses but do they understand what they mean? Valarie Tynes, DVM, told Reader's Digest pups do learn a hug or kiss is something good—if it's combined with other good things like petting, scratching, or giving food at the same time.

Though dogs like Bo don't know the words "I love you," with repetition, they'll eventually associate kisses or hugs with calm, happy voices and phrases, yummy treats, and happy-making actions like a belly rub. Tynes added that some dogs may not like the kiss itself, just the other things that go along with it, and therefore, they'll anticipate the kiss to get the other things.

When they lick us on the face, this isn't isn't them kissing us but rather something called "appeasement," which is "one of the ways they keep the peace in a group," Tynes added. It's about "maintaining the bond" you share together.

Not all dogs like receiving affection in these ways, so it's important to understand your pup's body language before going in to plant one on them! But if you have a sweetheart like Bo who seems to love those nose kisses, then go for it!
