Goldendoodle Becomes the Best Big Brother To Newborn After Only 5 Days

Dogs seem to understand when a baby is on the way. They can sense changes in scent or hormones that clue them in that something big is about to happen. They may even lay their head on a pregnant belly, suggesting they've already claimed the duties of loving and protecting whoever is inside. One Goldendoodle named Blue took this oath long ago, and now that the baby is here, he's taking in every precious moment.

In a beautiful TikTok video shared by @labingliyors , the Goldendoodle holds his new baby brother with such care, it's one for the books. Take a look at the heartwarming scene!

"Just gave birth 5 days ago. Here is my dog," the 16-second video says as the loving Goldendoodle snuggles his new human sibling on the couch. They're two peas in a pod as the pup's head is gently caressing the baby's body. Blue's taking the important job of protector literally and it's so wholesome.

"He knows his job really well!" the caption says and it's true. No one will keep this baby safe the way he does. It was evident the first time they met just days prior.

The awe-inspiring scene has more than 28k likes and it's easy to see why. Many of the pup's fans are all for these besties growing up together.

Why Dogs Love Babies So Much

Dogs are in-tune with human emotions. They're social by nature. Alexandra Bassett, lead dog trainer and behaviorist told the American Kennel Club that with pack drive instincts, dogs like Blue form incredibly tight bonds with their families—just as they would with their pack in the wild. It's a really special relationship that continues even with new members.

When a new baby comes along, the dog knows they're an addition to the family, so in turn, they'll protect that baby just the same. Dogs sense babies are harmless and vulnerable by sniffing or licking them, and they may linger around the baby to keep them safe. Besides that, pups may sense they have a new playmate. Though a baby needs time to grow, these intelligent fur babies anticipate all the fun they'll have one day.

Blue is the best big brother and with him around, that baby will continue to know love, protection, and acceptance.
