After surgery, some dogs can't seem to leave their wounds alone and require a "cone of shame" while they heal. There are many different types of these protective collars, but many pups don't enjoy parading around in one. Lavelle the English Bulldog is going through it right now, and if you ask him, he'll probably say he's not a fan. Not. At. All.

Lavelle's mom ( @lavelle_maslow ) shared a recent TikTok video that features the disgruntled pup donning his cone of shame, and he's a total mood. Check him out!

In the hilarious 16-second video captioned, "looking like a life raft, Lavelle," the cantankerous Bulldog stands, facing the camera, as he "suffers" through wearing his soft-padded Zen Collar. The words, "You gotta leave your tumor alone, Lavelle," scroll across the page as his mom dotes on the handsome boy who's over all of it.

Complete with toddler socks to cover the wound and a stare that could laser through a concrete building, this absolute unit took the phrase "Monday Blues" and ran with it for the whole week. Among his more than 87,000 followers, many are getting a kick out of Lavelle's sour vibes.

"I don’t think he’s feeling the 'zen' of that collar," one person joked.

    "Chris Farley vibes, another added.

"Oh, he looks so upset with you!!" another wrote, to which Lavelle's mom replied, "BIG mad."

This funny fellow is known to be a riot on the web with his silly antics, so we sure hope he gets that collar off so he can get back to his favorite hobby: making the internet laugh!

Ways To Lessen the E-Collar Burden

The reason many dogs don't love wearing the E-Collar (Elizabethan Collar), is because it bangs into things and scares them. However, VCA Animal Hospitals notes there are a few things you can do to ease their transition with the colla r, should they need to wear one.

Because this type of device limits vision from the sides and behind, they struggle in small spaces. If need be, confine your dog in a larger area with no movable objects or anything small they could knock around.

Supervise them for the first couple of hours to make sure they don't get stuck anywhere, but the site says most dogs adjust to wearing the collar in a couple of hours. If it's the plastic itself the dogs detest, try an alternative like a donut-shaped collar, inflated collar, recovery suit, or fabric cone.

Most of all, the greatest thing you can do to help your fur baby through this time is to give them lots of love and support as they figure out how to exist with this giant thing around their head. Like Lavelle, they likely won't love it, but at least it makes for a good, funny, video to look back on!
