A tiny senior Chihuahua is having the best time at the playground with his human sibling, and it's so cute to see.

On September 17, 2024, TikTok user Chuy Diaz Chihuahua (@chuydiazchihuahua) shared a video of Chuy having the best time out in the fresh air with his human sibling. Take a look!

In a short clip shared on social media, we meet a happy senior Chihuahua named Chuy, who is spending some time with his human sibling.

Chuy is almost 13 years old, and while that's pretty old in dog years, he doesn't let his age slow him down. In this video, he's bonding with his small human while getting fresh air and a little bit of sunshine.

Chuy is having a really fun time with the family at a local park, and he's found himself where many people flockā€”on the swing set.

He looks so relaxed while sitting in a swing with a seat designed for younger kids. He fits perfectly because his back legs fit through the leg holes, and he can pop his front legs over the top of the chair. He's sitting exactly like a toddler would in the same type of swing.

His eyes are closed, and his tongue is out as he enjoys the gentle swing of the chair.

In the swing next to the cuteĀ Chihuahua is his human toddler sibling, who is seated in the swing in a similar way to Chuy. She's not moving much either, but her eyes are fixated on Chuy, which makes sense because you don't always get to see a dog in a swing.

How to Care for a Senior Chihuahua

According to the American Kennel Club , Chihuahua pups tend to live between 14 and 16 years old. In general, Chihuahuas are "healthy little dogs, but there are some genetic issues that can affect the breed," the club explains.

The club notes that some of the more common issues that can impact a Chihuahua's health include heart problems, eye disease, and loose kneecaps.

As your Chihuahua grows and ages, some other considerations for their health should be kept in mind. Chihuahuas need a lot of exercise, and that doesn't stop as they age, but some tweaks do need to be made.

"Age doesnā€™t exempt senior dogs from exercise; they simply require shorter walks compared to their younger years," DogTime explains.

On average, dogs should have at least 30 minutes of exercise each day, and for a Chihuahua, that might look like 2 or 3 walks of 10 minutes instead of one longer 30-minute walk.
