When cats fear their territory has been invaded, they go bananas. Cue all the meowing, growling, hissing, and howling to be sure everyone knows it is NOT okay. This is exactly what happened recently when one cat named Natilla noticed an unwelcome guest outside the window and decided to alert the troops.

Luckily, Kat Newquist ( @indooroutdoorkat ) knew to grab her camera and get this hilarious scene on film and we're not worthy. Watch as Natilla screams her lungs out to warn the others of the non-threatening threat outside, and her fur children Dave and Gandalf running to her rescue!

In the 1-minute clip that's captioned, "My girl was just full on HOLLERING," Kat notes that she's never heard Natilla "get this mad" before. As she meows, Dave, then Gandalf runs up to see what's happening, joining in the cries in the most dramatic fashion.

"It's worth noting that Natilla has traveled internationally and has seen many other cats," Kat says. "The vibes were off with this one though."

After checking ht perimeter and finding it all clear, everyone finally settles back to reality and all is well. This is why cats are amazing , TBH.

Of the more than 1.8 million followers, and 219k likes on this clip that has hundreds of comments in support of this entire scenario, many are really proud of a Dave for his unwavering bravery and compassion.

"Her rage is incomprehensible, but Dave's support is unconditional," on person said.

"Dave defending his mom even though he had no idea what he was doing," another wrote.

"I love how Dave and Gandalf run over like 'Mother, what troubles you?!'" another added to which Kat responded in jest, "'Mother we will fight for you.'”

Dave, a fan favorite, is the real hero here for unwittingly volunteering to be Mom's first-in-command during these trying times.

When Indoor Cats 'Holler' or 'Caterwaul'

Natilla isn't the only indoor cat to get a little huffy about an outsider on their turf. VCA Hospitals calls the yelling "caterwauling ," and it's a cat's way of claiming their territory if an intruder is spotted.

If this happens, reassure your kitty everything is alright with lots of love and pets. If it's another animal getting them upset from the window, consider closing the curtain or blinds and turn on a nature show (like birds or squirrels). That's less threatening and even entertaining.

Cats just want to feel safe and that their home, fur babies, and people are protected. Natilla did what any cat mom would do—by telling that stray to get off her lawn—and for that, she should get the appreciation she deserves!
