Bunny Sisters Going Wild Over a Banana Is a True Treat To Watch

A perfectly ripe banana is one of the best things in the world. It's perfectly sweet, the texture is exactly how the universe intended, and in just a day or two, you could even use them to bake a fun little dessert.

Humans aren't the only ones who love bananas, though. On September 15th, a pair of bunny sisters were allowed to share a little banana as a treat, and they loved it so much it was a little bit crazy:

Bella and Blondie are the sweetest. Bananas are their favorite, and when they take over the world, I just know they'll demand bananas every day!

Bella and Blondie were adopted at the same time, and they're presumably littermates, though we're not explicitly told so. Even if they aren't they're still the best of friends and they love to do everything together, from eating to sleeping and even fighting from time to time. It does seem like Bella runs the show, but lucky for Blondie, she's willing to share her treats!

Bananas are one of their favorite treats to snack on. They also love strawberries, apple slices, and their daily helping of leafy greens and hay. In general, they seem to prefer sweet, fruity treats to others, as many animals do. Sugar is tasty!

Bananas Are a Fine Treat For Bunnies

Bananas are high in potassium and they're a very fun texture that bunnies don't get to have all the time. A little bit of banana every once in a while can even be good for them, and it's a very useful training treat!

Bunnies can be fed a little bit of banana as a treat a couple of times per month, just a few slices. Cut them to be about 1/8th of an inch thick and make sure there's no strings left on them. Additionally, you should avoid giving them the peel at all! For an additional fun texture, you could make "chips" out of them by dehydrating them in your oven, but be warned - they won't look as pretty as fresh or freeze-dried ones, but they last longer and are cheaper.

When you're giving your bunny a treat, try to give it to them in the middle of the day. They should spend the morning fueling up on the good stuff and the evening working off their treats. Bella and Blondie won't have a problem there: they're constantly running each other around!
