Inquisitive Wolves at Memphis Zoo Delight in Bubble Play Like Human Kids

The gorgeous wolves at Memphis Zoo are just as curious and playful as human kids while playing with bubbles.

On September 10, 2024, the Memphis Zoo (@memphiszoo) shared an adorable video of the playful pack of Wolves who had a lot of fun with bubbles. Take a look!

In a short video shared on Instagram , we quickly fall in love with the pack of Wolves who might actually be a pack of toddlers in another life time.

Off camera, someone on staff is blowing bubbles at the pack of Wolves at Memphis Zoo. They likely have a bubble-blowing machine or something since there are so many floating around at the same time. But what is clear is that the Wolves are having a great time.

They're interested in the bubbles and watching them all; they're acting like toddlers or young kids when playing outside with a bunch of bubbles floating in the sky. There are a few who aren't paying any attention, others who are just looking, and some of the Wolves are biting the air, trying to catch the bubbles. All in all, it looks like they're having the best time.

"The pups love to pop, pop, pop!" the video's caption on Instagram reads. Our playful pack couldn’t get enough of playing with bubbles!"

The zoo keepers made sure to let everyone know that the bubbles "are non-toxic and safe for our pack." In the comment section, people shared their thoughts and feelings about the Wolves who love bubbles.

There Aren't a Lot of Timber Wolves Left in the Wild

According to the Memphis Zoo's website, the Wolves in the video they shared are Timber Wolves, also called Eastern Wolves.

Memphis Zoo has four Timber Wolves , all siblings born on April 25, 2023, in Montana. The siblings include Cash, Blaze, Dottie, and Atlas. They appear to be living happy lives together, with a bonus of bubbles to play with.

According to the Wolf Conversation Center , these Wolves are primarily found in Canada, mostly in Northern Ontario, including Algonquin Park.

"The Eastern Wolf has disappeared from almost all of southern Ontario," the conservation center explained, "largely as a result of loss of habitat through forest clearance and farmland development."

Given how much less are they're found in, researchers believe there to be less than 500 Timber Wolves in the wild. And with such a low population, this species is considered "threatened.

The Wolf Conservation Center explains, "In 2024, Eastern wolves were up-listed to "threatened" under Canada's Species At Risk Act (SARA)."
