Kittens Standing in a Perfect Line to 'Freshen Up' After Dinner Are So In Sync

Cats develop a lot of their routines very early on in life. Once they get in the habit of doing something, there's a solid chance they will never stop doing it, and it could be literally anything. If you have the chance, just watch your cat sometimes.

If one mom wasn't tuned in and watching her kittens on September 18th, we may never have know that they seem to enjoy standing in a perfect line and grooming themselves every night after dinner. It's so cute that it's almost eerie:

It seems there's been a printing error with this batch: Lauren Rolfe received three of the exact same kitten. Is she eligible for a refund? No? That's okay, she doesn't want one anyway!

These sweet kittens are all fosters, so they'll all be finding forever homes soon enough. Luckily, they seem to be very sophisticated gentlemen: they'll find forever homes in no time. Until then, though, these three brothers are getting bigger by the day, which involves lots of food.

Though they don't always get along, their differences are set aside for about three minutes after every meal. They stand in a line, often in that spot, and groom themselves accordingly. After that, they go back to normal kitten-crazy, but it's worth it for those few minutes of cuteness!

Cats Don't Like to Be Dirty

Animals caring about being dirty might not seem like it makes a lot of sense, but it's pretty much a universal truth that animals prefer to be clean. That's why they devote so much time to grooming themselves, and it's part of why many incorporate grooming or preening as a social behavior.

Cats, in particular, hate being dirty. In fact, some experts say they spend about 50% of the time they're awake cleaning themselves. They groom after they do just about anything, from napping to eating and even just walking around. They also hate when their things are dirty, and will lose interest in worse-for-wear toys or trees and dirty litter boxes.

Just because cats don't like to be dirty doesn't mean you should be cleaning them: they like to do it themselves. Whenever possible, you should avoid bathing a healthy cat. If they're not grooming themselves, then you can step in, and you can always help them out by brushing their coats daily, but leave the actual "washing" part to them unless they really need it!
