Tiny Yorkie Puppy Melts Hearts During First Meeting with Vet Clinic Cats

A very tiny Yorkie puppy met the vet clinic cats for the first time and their interaction had everyone swooning.

On September 19, 2024, TikTok user Dancing Paws Vet (@dancingpawsvet) shared a clip of a cute puppy who met a curious orange cat. Take a look!

The integrative veterinary clinic in Richfield, Ohio, shared a really cute video of a little Yorkie who makes an orange cat look big.

In the clip, we meet a baby Yorkie who is full of energy and very excited to be meeting some new friends. The new friends don't match the pup's energy, though, because the cat seems more weary of the pup than excited.

But that doesn't stop the little guy. Instead, he's happy to see a new friend and thrilled to see another cat, a grey tabby, whom he happily greets. And then, the tiny Yorkie takes a particular interest in a black-and-white cat who playfully bops the puppy on his head.

The little Yorkie then returns to the tabby for another chance to say hello.

The music playing in the background of the video is "Let Me Be Your Friend (a Song for Animal Adoption)" by Byrd and Street, which is the perfect energy match for the little Yorkie.

In the comment section, people were smitten with the happy pup, who has the cutest wagging tail and happy steps.

Interesting Facts About Yorkshire Terriers

According to the American Kennel Club , Yorkshire Terriers, or Yorkies as they're affectionately called, are "affectionate, sprightly, and tomboyish." These dogs are small, with a height of approximately 7 to 8 inches and a weight of around 7 pounds.

"Tenacious, feisty, brave, and sometimes bossy, the Yorkie exhibits all the traits of a true terrier. Often named the most popular dog breed in various American cities, Yorkies pack lots of big-town attitude into a small but self-important package," the American Kennel Club explains.

"They are favorites of urbanites the world over. Yorkies are long-lived and hypoallergenic (the coat is more like human hair than animal fur), and they make fine little watchdogs. This is a true 'personality breed,' providing years of laughs, love, and close companionship."

Although they're small, they aren't lacking in courage or confidence, the club shares. “The dog’s high head carriage and confident manner should give the appearance of vigor and self-importance," the club notes.

"Because of these traits, Yorkshire Terriers do well at everything from dog sports, like agility, to therapy work and makes them great travel companions as well as family dogs."
