Bulldog Cuddling with Little Boy After Day Apart Captures the Essence of True Love

I know they say that dogs are a man's best friend, but I've seen far sweeter love stories between a dog and his kid. Sure, there are pups out there who don't like kids, but far more who adore them and will even feel a sense of protectiveness over them. I've seen it happen in my own house, too. My dog has loved my daughter since she came home from the hospital as a newborn who couldn't really interact with anyone, and now, I am fairly certain there is no one else in the world this dog would allow to dress her up in super hero capes.

It's truly such a sweet thing to see the bond between a child and a dog who are lucky enough to grow up together as siblings, and the video below features a particularly loving Bulldog who I can just tell would do anything for his tiny human.

This heartwarming footage comes to us from @ hanksabulldog on Instagram, who shared the video on Monday, September 23. Here, we can see Hank the English Bulldog all snuggled up with a little boy, because apparently, even spending just one day apart was enough for these two to miss each other dearly.

In the caption, their mom wrote, "The boys spent the day at @monsterjam and Hank is making up for lost snuggle time."

Both dog and child look like they're in their element here, especially Hank, who looks perfectly content to squish his face right up against his brother's face as they unwind from the day together.

While there are two kids under Hank's roof who he seems to love looking after, it seems like the younger one, Jude, might be his favorite cuddle buddy — and after seeing this video , I am convinced it's because Jude sets him up with blankets and pillows so well.

    They're too sweet together!

    Do Bulldogs Usually Like Kids?

As it turns out, Hank isn't just a fluke — Bulldogs as a breed are actually known for how great with kids they can be!

As Hill's Pet Nutrition points out, English Bulldogs are very sweet and gentle dogs who love children and being part of a family. The website describes them as "people-oriented," and they'll likely be very tolerant of your kiddos wanting to pet and love on them.

They also don't need a ton of exercise, but they will be glad to join the kids for a walk around the neighborhood (as long as it isn't too hot).

If you're looking for a family dog (perhaps one who really loves to cuddle on the couch and watch Paw Patrol) a Bulldog could be an excellent choice.
