If you’ve ever had to chase after your dog, you know how quickly they can run, especially when they don’t wish to be caught. While some breeds, like Greyhounds, are known for reaching incredible speeds, we may not expect it from a Briard. But this spirited pup might become known for breaking records!

This merry fellow couldn’t wait to show off his athletic talents on the treadmill, and tempo could win him a gold medal! Take a look at this video from September 6 to witness his impressive run.

I wouldn’t want to be the one chasing after Lazlo, that’s for sure! This boy was so happy to get on this specially designed doggy treadmill that he began running before (@ runrascaldyroo ) clipped him into place. He moved so fast it appeared he was about to take flight! At top speed on this non-motorized treadmill, Lazlo clocked in at 48 miles an hour and maintained an average of 45 mph. That’s incredible! It’s clear this high-energy dog enjoys his workouts and has been training for some time. It’s an excellent way for a working dog like a Briard to burn off pent-up energy, especially if they don’t have farm animals to look after.

    Top 5 Fastest Dog Breeds

The Greyhound leads the pack of fastest dog breeds , and they can reach up to 45 mph speeds, making them the fastest dogs in the world. Next in line is the Saluki , an ancient breed capable of running up to 42.8 mph. The Afghan Hound and Vizsla are not far behind, reaching speeds of around 40 mph. Finally, the Jack Russell Terrier might be small, but they are swift, with speeds up to 38 mph. Although the Briard’s speed is not ranked, if Lazlo is any indication, they might give other dogs a run for their money. However, the Briard is beloved for their tireless nature and the AKC reports it only takes 2-3 of these athletic pups to manage up to 700 sheep.

People were in awe of this dog’s speedy paws. Viewer @lexihowarddd remarked, “It must be nice to run this much while being a temperature-controlled van so they don’t overheat. They can keep going!” That’s especially true during the summer months or in warmer climates. Viewer @candycoffie responded, “I love this! So many dogs never get the chance to just run to their full speed and potential. He’s moving! That’s wonderful!” It’s a terrific way for dogs to stay fit, and this non-motorized treadmill allows them to run at their desired speed.

I hope this mobile dog gym idea catches on nationwide. I would love to give my dogs a fun place to exercise when it’s too hot to walk outside.
