Halloween time is a favorite time of the year for many, and for good reason. The decorations are spooky, the pumpkins are everywhere, and it's the perfect time to have an arbitrary competition with your neighbors about whose yard is better.

For pet parents, though, Halloween brings out something else: pet costumes. They're everywhere, and they're all adorable. Recently, one family decided to get a head start in the costume department, and this gaggle of Golden Retriever puppies couldn't be any cuter:

Pineview Puppies: where you can see your puppy wearing cutie Halloween costumes before they come home to you. It's a very effective marketing tool. I'd consider getting one - especially the one dressed like a little lobster!

Pineview Puppies is a Utah-based Golden Retriever breeder. Their puppies are exceptionally cute, and they love to dress up whatever litter they have at the time for any given holiday. It's just a fun thing, and it's actually not a bad idea: it helps get the puppies used to wearing clothes!

There's a variety of costumes in this video, which really speaks to the versatility of the season: even if your dog isn't crazy about clothes, you can usually find something cute for them. The "cutest in show" award in this video goes to the one dressed like a lobster, though.

Best Ways to Dress Up Dogs

Options used to be much more limited, but companies are getting a lot better at listening to their customers. Not every pup can wear a full-blown costume, and even the ones that do have different needs.

When you want to get your dog into wearing clothes, you should start small and work your way up. Keep their collar on all the time, and then transition into a bandana. From there, you can try out cape-like costumes, and then eventually, you can dress your pup up like a lobster.

There are a few universally hated things that might make for a rough costuming experience:

    1. Tight fabric on the dog's neck or legs.
    2. Anything covering their ears.
    3. Loose bits that hang down and tickle them.
    4. Anything that might inhibit them going potty if they need to.

Ideally, you should choose something that doesn't wrap around your dog's back legs at all. Something with Velcro straps that wrap around the pup's belly to keep the costume on is optimal: it's easy to get on, easy to get off, and allows for quick adjustment. Most of the costumes in this video follow this rule, and they're all really cute!
