    Toy Safety Guidelines for Dogs

Toys are a huge part of a dog's life, and as The Humane Society of the United States says, toys are "not a luxury, but a necessity." They enrich a dog's life, helping them burn off energy, practice new skills, calm their anxiety, and so much more. But it's important to have a safe toy .

"Many factors contribute to the safety or danger of a toy, and a number of them depend upon your dog's size, activity level, and preferences," the experts say. "Another thing to consider is the environment where your dog spends their time."

They suggest you remove anything containing string, rubber band, pantyhose, ribbon, or children's toys, which they say "could be swallowed."

Adding, "Be sure to buy toys of appropriate size for your dog. Toys that are too small can easily be swallowed or become lodged in your dog's throat."

And, The Humane Society of the United States explains that it's important to always supervise your dog when they're playing wiht a toy.
