Everything kittens do is adorable, especially when they're competing with each other to do it. For one litter of four kittens, the biggest race in the world is who can get to Mom first, and it's a nail-biter!

In the too sweet for words TikTok video shared by @lifeoftoastandfriends, the four kittens do their very best to race toward their mom, but the real winner is her! Watch them go!

"The kittens' reaction after not seeing me for a whole day," the 24-second video begins as the woman enters the bedroom where they all lay together. As she sits and calls them, the race to Mom begins. Three of them make it all the way to Mom's legs, while the fourth drops out of the competition before it ever began.

"The way they started crawling towards me," the caption reads.

The clip has more than 228,000 likes and hundreds of comments gushing over the cuteness.

"Omg, I would freaking melt if I had this many kittens again at once," one person wrote.

"They’re trying so hard to get to you," another noted.

"They’re like, 'MOM, you’re home!!' *waddles to get to you*," another said.

Everyone is in love with these little babies and it's clear to see why!

    When Do Kittens Begin Walking?

Kittens become full-grown cats seemingly overnight. But during the transitional stages, a lot is happening in their development. PetMD says of a kitten's milestones , much of it happens in the first 6-8 weeks of being alive.

Within about 10 days, they can open their eyes, but it'll take another week to actually see through them. This is important because it correlates with some of their teeth coming in and attempting to be on their feet more, however slowly.

By about three weeks old, they start walking with little coordination. It's adorable but won't get them far until they reach about four weeks. They'll likely be practicing a lot more by this age.

Watching a kitten get used to their feet is like seeing a bird learn how to fly. Though they'll begin exploring their surroundings in an awkward, wobbly way, it won't be long before they're in their fifth week, confidently walking, "running," and playing with siblings. They may not be speedsters just yet, but they've got the walking thing down and can start to be litter-trained . In another week, they'll advance to jumping off things, so brace yourself!

Enjoy every second with kittens in their first eight weeks—it goes by so fast!
