Some traditions are worth keeping, no matter what. For Kat Newquist, that means carrying a single graham cracker in a Ziploc bag across the miles so that her cat Gandalf's tradition of licking the treat every Monday won't be broken.

Kat (@indooroutdoorkat) shared a TikTok video showing all the places the cracker traveled before making it to Gandalf, and if that's not dedication, what is? Watch her remarkable journey!

"Not even 1,776 miles can keep me from my girl Gandalf and our shared traditions," the caption reads. The video shows Kat holding the bagged cracker in various places, including a hotel, airport, on a plane, in the car lot, and finally back home to Gandalf.

The kitty spots the bag and paws at it before Mom lets her do her favorite weekly activity, which is licking the graham cracker as brother Dave tries to get in on the action. It's an incredible story of love,  told through Gandalf's favorite treat.

Gandalf and her family have a dedicated following of 1.8 million people who tune in every week to see the graham cracker obsession in full force. It's literally the highlight of the week.

"Of course we would travel the world for Gandalf," the official account for Honey Maid Graham Crackers wrote.

"I love Gandalf more than any other TikTok cat," another proclaimed.

"Oh, to be loved like this," another said.

This tradition gives people life, so good on Kat for keeping it alive and well despite being far from home.

Are Graham Crackers Safe For Cats?

Gandalf is a visionary in the cat-food-eating vertical, and it will reassure other pet parents to know that Catster says it's perfectly fine to let them eat graham crackers in moderation.

There's no real nutritional value, and the cracker should be the original version, not cinnamon or chocolate. Also, be on the lookout for xylitol, an artificial sweetener that is toxic to cats. Graham crackers wouldn't be the best treat for cats with wheat or flour allergies or those prone to digestive upset, obviously, but a taste here and there otherwise—or a weekly lick—shouldn't cause any issues.

If you'd like to find another crunchy alternative that's more cat-specific, the site suggests cat treats, cooked meat, dental chews, or catnip to give them something to snack on between meals. The general rule with treats is that they shouldn't make up more than 10% of their daily nutritional value, though it varies with size, breed, and their activity level. After all, we want our cats to be happy and healthy.

The bottom line? Enjoy that worldly, well-traveled graham cracker, Gandalf!
