A cat discovered their mom hanging out with the neighborhood kitten, and their "jealous kid" energy is hilarious.

On September 26, 2024, TikTok user Jessica Baldwin (@jessicaraerae1313) shared a vide of her cat named Benjamin who is a little mad at her right now. Take a look!

Benjamin is a cute orange and white cat who has a little issue with his mom after he sees something he didn't expect.

"When you have to remind him he's your only baby cause he saw you with the neighborhood cat," the text on the video reads.

In the clip, Benjamin's mom is trying to understand why he's so upset. And it's clear he is because he has a whole lot to say.

"Benjamin," Mom says to her sweet cat, who is not looking at her. When he doesn't respond, she goes to give him a gentle pet, and Benjamin is not happy about it.

He let out an angry meow, turning his head to Mom behind the camera and making it very clear that he was not happy.

Mom encourages Benjamin to speak to her and let out what's bothering him. He's upset and happy to meow back his grievances to her. He saw her with the neighborhood cat outside and got a little (or a lot) jealous that he was not important to her anymore.

"Do you want to talk about it," she asked Benjamin a few times, and the adorable sweet cat kept talking , and was happy for her to "leave him alone."

"Button, I love you," she assured her sweet cat.

"Its the low growls for me," the video's caption reads. And in the comments, people were taken by how cute Benjamin is.

One wrote, "I love jealous cats I wish I had cat."

Another added, "Not the half a mustache."

Someone else shared, "He’s not mad, he’s just hurt."

One added, "You need to apologize to Mr now."

Another explained, "Oh, he has said what he said!"

Someone else joked, "I don’t know what he said but I know he’s right."

Why Do Some Cats Talk a Lot?

According to the Almost Home Humane Society , there are many reasons why you might have a talkative cat, including a breed tendency or attention-seeking behavior.

"Asian breeds, such as the Siamese, are known to be very vocal. If your cat has a pointed face and a long, lean body, chances are she has some Asian heritage, so 'talking' may be a part of her character," the experts share.

"If your cat’s chatter bothers you, then avoid giving her any attention when she is vocal because this will only encourage the vocal behavior." If you don't mind the chatter, then there is no need to discourage it.

Another reason, which could be Benjamin's motives, is that they're talking to get attention.

"Some cats 'talk' because they know they’ll get a reaction," the site explains. And this can be a good or bad reaction including someone talking back to them or being moved somewhere else. "All of these responses will encourage an attention-seeking cat.
