Adorable Little Girl’s Reaction to Blue Tick Coonhound's Amazing Trick Overflows with Cuteness

Despite the fact that I have a dog at home, there has never been one single time that I saw a dog while out in public and wasn't excited to see them. Whatever you love improves with the presence of a dog, whether it's a Target run, a walk around the neighborhood, or a boring day running errands. When my kid is with me, it's double the joy. She loves animals even more than I do, and is absolutely thrilled to see a dog while we're out and about (and to pet them, after asking their human for permission of course).

That means that I'm not necessarily surprised by this little girl's reaction to a Blue Tick Coonhound — especially since said Coonhound is doing tricks — but I am still delighted to see the adorable moment unfold, and I think you will be too.

This sweet video comes to us from @dixie_the_praying_dog on TikTok, and her new friend — the little girl who can't get enough of Dixie the Blue Tick Coonhound , of course.

Dixie can "pray" on command, which means she gets into a praying position when someone says the word "pray," and then when they say "Amen!" she gets up. It's really cute, and the little one in the video clearly thought so, too, because once the trick was complete, she announced, "I like that dog."

    Me too, kid!

She then treated Dixie to some pets, which she absolutely deserves because she is a very good (and talented) pooch.

No offense to Dixie, but her new human friend kind of stole the show for a minute there... but something tells me she probably wouldn't mind sharing the spotlight with her.

More About Dixie the Praying Dog

As it turns out, Dixie is actually a bit of a celebrity, even beyond her Instagram following of more than 100,000 fans.

As Dixie's dad, Brian Calvert, told Indy Star , he originally taught her how to pray as a way for her to show her thanks to veterans and members of the military while working as a therapy dog. Her skills led Calvert to apply for the reality show The Pack , and in 2019, the two competed together as they traveled around the world and competed for prize money.

They didn't end up winning, but competing on the show helped Dixie score a role in the movie Mayberry Man.

It looks like Dixie's skills are entertaining people from all over the world — and helping them feel comforted when she works as their therapy dog.

Like I said, she's a very good dog!
