Unlucky Labradoodle Went for a Groom and Came Back Looking Like a Sheared Sheep

Everyone, at some point, has had a bad haircut. You know the kind - it's too short, choppy, or you made the last minute decision to add bangs (never a good idea), there's little you can do but wait it out to show your face again. Sydney the Labradoodle is currently experiencing this, and she would really appreciate it if you keep your thoughts to yourself until it grows back.

In an all-too-real TikTok video, the once gloriously hairy pup gets quite a shock when—gasp!—she comes out looking like livestock after a summer shearing. Check her out!

Alright, thanks to @cool_cats_h8_lasers , this is the funniest thing ever. Not for Syd, of course, but for all of us who've been through a similar, traumatic salon appointment. The kind where you just sit in front of the mirror and rethink all your life choices.

"Left my labradoodle with all the fluff, came back to…skin. Guess she’s ready for winter," the caption jokes, though Sydney's anxious face tells all. Aside from feeling a little lighter, cooler, and fresher, she's not a fan of this particular cut and style that makes her look more like a Sheepadoodle than any dog at all.

The bonus is, this clip is giving the internet life.

"High school boys after their mom takes them to Great Clips," one person said. "Her’s a little lamb," another added. "The way I gasped," another wrote.

Regular Grooming Is Necessary For Labradoodles

Jokes aside, Labradoodles grow a lot of hair, and with that comes a need for regular grooming so their hair doesn't get matted up. Plus, in the summer heat, it can really wear them down and make them more uncomfortable than they need to be.

PetMD says no two Labradoodles have the same coat . And just as they can each have their own personalities, their curl length and tightness can, too. Known for being low-shedding dogs, they still require a maintenance grooming routine every 2-3 months. You can absolutely try to take this on at home on your own, but taking them to an experienced groomer on a regular basis will be your best bet.

Outside of that, pet parents should take care to brush these pups twice a week, though daily is ideal, and be sure to get down to the skin in friction areas, but do so gently. If they get dirtier than usual and you need to tide them over until the next grooming appointment, give them a quick oat-based shampoo rinse.

Truthfully, some Labradoodles may need a drastic shearing like Sydney, and that's okay! Just be sure to tell her how pretty she is.

Even if she comes back with terribly botched bangs.

kind of reminds me of an old boyfriend who tried trimming his beard-- ended up with no beard-- and I realized that he also had no chin!
