The weather is finally giving us the first hints that it plans to cool down this year, and I am not mad about it. This is good for my dog, too — with less blazing hot days every week, she gets to go on longer walks, because I'm not absolutely sweating after the first 10 minutes of being outside. Before long, summer's high temps will be nothing but a memory, and I'll be complaining about being freezing cold instead. And even though most dogs are wearing a fur coat of their own making, we can't forget that they get cold, too!

One of the easiest ways to give your pup a little more protection from cold temperatures both inside and out this fall and winter are sweaters... and it's a pretty adorable solution, too. And affordable, if you're able to snag this sweater in particular from Aldi.

    Aldi

Aldi has just shared their selection of Aldi finds that will be available in stores starting this week, and they include a really cute sweater that works for both cats and dogs.

Made by the grocery chain's Heart to Tail brand, the pet sweater , comes in at just $4.99 each. You can choose between four different styles — Color-block Taupe/Cream, Color-block Navy/Red, Cable-knit Forest Green, Cable-knit Pink — and it comes in sizes XS-L. The fabric is stretchy, though, so it will have a little give when you're trying to get your pet dressed!

These sweaters are very stylish, and it would be easy enough to find a matching human version to wear with them if you feel like twinning (though of course, that would depend on the color and style you choose). And they will keep your pup's core warm while leaving all four paws totally free.

Do Dogs Need Sweaters in Cold Weather?

As the weather cools down, we're seeing more and more dog sweaters and jackets in stores. But is it just a cute, optional accessory or something necessary for the winter months?

Pet MD points out that while any clothes you put on your dog certainly are optional, it can't hurt to bundle them up a bit before you go outside, especially if you plan to be out there for an extended period of time (or even inside, if your heating isn't up to snuff).

Some breeds will benefit more from outerwear than others, including smaller dogs and those who have naturally thin coats. Your Husky is probably fine, though.

Just make sure that the sweater in question fits properly and that they're nice and comfortable. And take lots of pictures!
