Poodle Mix Goes to Work with Mom & Is Instantly Over the 9-to-5 Life

There are some days when it can be just too painful to say goodbye and leave your dog behind as you head off for another day at work. No matter how much you love your dog, it's hard to say no to the cozy day of cuddling you just know they want you to have with them... and of course, most of us pet parents have worried plenty about how our pups are doing when they're left home alone. We don't want them to be sad while they're gone, even if we are off working hard to provide them with a better life!

Thankfully, it seems like more and more workplaces have begun to adopt pet-friendly policies. It's great, but we've forgotten one thing in the midst of all of this: The dogs might not actually want to go to work with their human. That seems to be the case for the Poodle mix in this TikTok video, because after his first taste of the 9-5 work life, he's officially over it.

On Tuesday, October 8, @kelsandtommy shared this hilarious (and all too relatable) video of her Poodle mix pup , Tommy, reacting to his first day on the job.

"I brought my dog into work with me thinking he'd appreciate the change of scenery," she wrote. "Needless to say, he did not appreciate it and was ready to go after 20 minutes."

Tommy's facial expression really says it all, so make sure you watch the video to see it for yourself. I think we've all made that expression at work at some point!

I know he's not able to communicate with us in human language, but after seeing Tommy make that face, I'm pretty sure that he's thinking about the comfy bed he could be lounging in at home without being surrounded by all that fluorescent lighting.

Tommy's Misadventures in the World

The more videos of Tommy I watch, the more I'm convinced that this dog is the quintessential homebody.

It's not just work that he doesn't seem to enjoy. Walks aren't always his favorite, and as you can see in this TikTok video, he's actively avoiding walking past a pole as best he can. What does he think the pole is going to do to him?!

And then, we also get to see him in footage that was shared from his day at daycare. All of the other dogs are playing together, while Tommy hides under a stool. Tommy and I might be the same person.

Fortunately, his mom said this isn't actually typical of his daycare experiences in the caption, where she explained, "Most days the daycare workers tell us that he was super playful and had fun with the other dogs!"

Tommy might just like to hang at home, and that's okay. He's always willing to try new things, even if he doesn't like them!
