Corgi Puppy's Adorable Stick-Burying Mission Sets the Cuteness Bar Sky-High

Is there anything more adorable than watching a puppy explore the world around them? I can't think of much. Their curious sniffs and constant enthusiasm bring us endless amounts of joy. Every leaf, stick, and blade of grass is a thrilling discovery that’s equally exciting for us to witness.

That is certainly true for this precious Corgi , who made a valiant attempt at burying a stick. While it may not have gone as planned, her efforts were certainly commendable.

She’s so cute with those big ears perfectly lined up with her big stick! I could happily watch this baby Pembroke Welsh Corgi attempting to bury her treasure all day. Wulfi’s (@ corgis_of_happiness ) little paws worked so hard to clear the dirt away, and she looked precious while doing it! Although she did her job well and dug as far as her tiny legs could reach, it wasn’t enough to conceal her piece of wood. But that didn’t get her down. Instead, she used her sweet little nose to throw the loose dirt over the top. Hopefully, it will be all she needs to protect her special stick from harm. If not, it shouldn’t take long for her to find a new favorite branch.

Why Do Dogs Bury Things?

It’s part of a dog’s instinct to dig and bury things. Canines in the wild did this to keep scavengers away from the food they were saving for later. These buried treasures ensured they would have something to eat if resources became scarce. Today, some dogs might bury items to keep them safe and secure, especially their most prized possessions. Others might do it because it’s fun and entertaining, and many choose to dig to keep cool in warmer months. No matter their reason, this playful behavior can bring a sense of satisfaction and security.
